Privacy Policy
In the process of renting an apartment and subsequently paying your rent and
other charges, you share personal
information with us. Examples of personal information that you may
share includes but is not limited to your name, current and prior addresses,
age, date of birth, driver’s license information, social security number,
employment history, educational background, bank account information, debit card
and credit card numbers, as well as details about your assets and liabilities.
We collect, retain and use your personal information for the purpose of
facilitating the leasing and lease renewal process, to process payments, to
discuss past due balances, to inform you about events and activities at the
property, and to request your feedback.
We will share your personal information with credit agencies to facilitate your
lease approval or with banking partners to facilitate your payment transactions. We do not otherwise share your
personal information with third parties except as authorized by your lease
agreement or as required by law.
When you submit a lease application (on line or in person) or when you create an
account on our resident portal, you consent to these terms.
The security of your data is important to us.
We protect the financial data that you share with us by requiring unique
logins and passwords and by using secure socket Layer (SSL) technology to
encrypt sensitive data that is passing from your Internet browser to our
servers. To confirm that you are
connecting securely, verify that the url address at the top of your browser
begins with https (instead of http), and confirm that the secure symbol (most
typically, a padlock or a key) appears at the bottom of your browser. In addition to password
authentication and SSL, the resident portal application sits behind a monitored
firewall and we use enterprise anti-virus applications to protect our computer
network.
These safeguards are consistent with those used by most banks and others who
process financial applications over the internet.
However, it is important to realize that no one can guarantee or certify
data security across the Internet.
Protect yourself by using complex passwords, reliable antivirus software and up-to-date
Internet browser applications.
Our Privacy and Security policies will be amended from time to time. Should you have any questions or concerns about these policies, or to report any known or suspected breaches, please send an email to privacyandsecurity@ginkgomail.com
